Conference as part of the temporary exhibition "Forgotten Victims", to be held from 13.3 to 23.12.2024 at the Museum in Esch-sur-Alzette.
Shortly after the occupation of Luxembourg, the Germans began to persecute Jehovah's Witnesses in the country. By the end of 1940, the small religious community had been dismantled. Its members were arrested and deported to prisons and concentration camps. Taking a look at the pre-war period, the lecture "Suffering in the name of God? The persecution of Jehovah's Witnesses in Luxembourg" sheds light on both the history of the religious community's origins and its gradual dissolution during the occupation.
