The exhibition highlights the historical links between Luxembourg and Portugal during the Second World War. The focus lies on the town of Vilar Formoso, on the French/Spanish border, which became a gateway to freedom for many refugees. The exhibition analyses the situation through, among others, the Jewish refugees in Luxembourg and the Grand Ducal family.

The "VILAR FORMOSO" exhibition can be shown on its own, or together with the "ARISTIDES DE SOUSA MENDES" exhibition, which is complementary.

The exhibition is bilingual, in German and French.
